This little boy loves things that move, flash and light up.
The remote is no exception. Can you imagine how excited he's going to be when he actually figures out how to turn on the TV with it???

Doh!
So Daddy continues to teach Vakie all kinds of fun new tricks. Now it is the Simpsons.
If you say "Doh!" to Vake, he will put his hands on top of his head, just like Homer Simpson. So at least we know his future as an employee at the nuclear power plant is safe...

Aquarium, St. Patrick's Day Balloon, New Favorite Book and Custard
Vake is enjoying playing in his room a lot more than he used to- and we put the beloved aquarium at the foot of Vake's big boy bed. (We don't have any plans to move Vake out of the crib any time soon but it is nice to already have a bed in there for when that day arrives.)
Vake and I worked on the laundry in his room last week (or, more accurately, I folded and Vake and Raffi looked at the aquarium).
And crawled around.

And crawled back to the aquarium.
And checked out the handsome devil in the mirror.
As you know, Vake loves balloons. Superdad took V to the grocery store yesterday and SOMEONE came home with a mylar balloon (50% off, too!!!).
What a sweet little boy.
Hi you all. Have you SEEN this balloon?
We've had amazing weather here so he was sporting his madras shorts yesterday.

Birthday Balloons and Cake!! (and the flip is VERY cool...)
Ok, so I've spent some time with the Flip and figured out how to clip pictures from the video- how awesome is that- and they will give you ten clips per second to choose from- so here are three of the seconds of the cake blowing out ceremony- is that so awesome?
As you can tell, little V is fascinated by the whole process but it looks as though E and I are doing most of the blowing.

Cell Phones and Smiles
Vake's very favorite toy is a cell phone- I can sing basically every jingle that accompanies every press of every button. It is a great toy for riding in the car- he will concentrate on it for 15-20 minutes without interruption.
Vake is also (and I am sure I have said it before) the consummate ham- I don't know if we should chalk this up to my sorority days or what but this pumpkin LOVES A CAMERA.
Today, we are wearing one of our crab outfits in honor of Uncle Dennis, who just passed his social work exam!!!

Footie Pajamas
We've finally outgrown our gorgeous toile pajamas from Aunt Stacy and moved on to footed pajamas from Aunt Deborah and Uncle Charlie.
Anyone out there remember footed pajamas? For some really weird reason, I have this vivid memory of a pair of maroon ones with a football scene on them- Mom will have to confirm. But there's nothing cozier.
Too bad we are already wearing a 3T- I don't think they make them much above a 6. And at the rate we're growing, we're going to hit that size by the summer!!!!!

Back to Nature Baby...
Those who know me know that I am not much of a nature kind of person. Not that I don't appreciate nature, but I can think of things I'd rather do than hike or camp.
So you can imagine my surprise when Vake picked out this outfit. A spotted owl shirt and camouflage (spelling?) pants. And big boy shoes.
"Hey Mom, can we go outside so I can look at some bugs?"
