Bathtime!

Bathtime is the way that we get ready for bed. Every night about 6:00 or so, we get out the blue bathtub and put it on the kitchen sink- if I were more blog savvy, which I'm not, I would have a video link that shows how happy he is every night when bathtime starts. Once we are in the bathtub, then the duck washcloth comes out- that's pretty fun. I did promise Eric that I wouldn't put any naked baby pictures on the internet.

By the end of the bath, though, the water's getting a little cold and he's not as happy as he was at the beginning. We finish up by popping on the hooded towel and putting on some pyjamas. It's always a race to get the diaper on- unfortunately tonight we were taking pictures and waited too long- poor Grandmary was holding him!

Long Day...

So I came home from Lynchburg (if you are from the West Coast, perhaps you find this small city name as funny as Eric does...it is also the home of Jerry Falwell's empire, including Liberty University) and the boys were waiting for me...

Eric was a single parent this morning- got little V ready for the nanny and then ready for bed. I don't know who was more tired by the time I walked in the door at seven.

In other news, I am starting to figure out how to move pictures and text around on blogger, which is pretty exciting...

To All My Babies in the Struggle

Keep it real, fellow babies. Don't let the man get you down!

Taren

Just so that you can see who's keeping an eye on Mr. Vake while I'm off defending and Eric's in his office thinking big thoughts, I've attached a picture that Taren, our new babysitter, took of her with Vake.
Vake loves Taren; my guess is that it is because she's got the patience of a saint. She's super happy and cheerful and she's very into entertaining him.

Explanation

So Eric just read my first post and I think he is surprised and impressed that I figured out how to make a blog (I will point out that I managed to get through law school, I was an associate at a large firm and I can also tie my own shoes all by myself) but he did comment that my first post did not make any sense.

Just to clarify, the crab is one of Maryland's state symbols. Hopefully that puts it in context.

First Post

So after a year of looking at other people's blogs, I've finally gotten up the courage to start a blog of my own- it is mostly for Vake's West Coast relations- we don't get a chance to see them very much and I don't want them to miss him when he is so sweet and funny and growing so fast- who knows if this will actually work!

Anyway, here we go- I am attaching some pictures of Vake that were taken today- Mom and I are going to Lynchburg tomorrow where we are going to meet up with my sister who just accepted a fellowship at Hopkins so Vake is wearing a crab outfit that Mom bought for him!
