Eric has some pictures too- so he's going to need to upload his as well- and of course, I wound up taking some great ones on my iPhone, too.
The boys were really well behaved in the car, all things considering- we had definitely hyped the day as a very special and fun occasion.
When we arrived, there was plenty of running around that needed to be done- this is right near the old Hotel Washington that's now a W.
And of course, no morning would be complete without some spontaneous rasslin'.
Not surprisingly, the hardest part of the day was the waiting. We were in the 12:15 group and we were allowed to go into the line at 11:30. We got to the line about that time and there were already literally thousands of people lined up.
So the boys played in the dirt a fair amount. And rassled again. Obviously.
The views from the lines (and yes, there were multiple lines to get in) were pretty amazing.
What they had to offer once we got inside was worth it- here are the boys studying their maps.
And a less than totally perky picture right in front of the White House.
Eric sent his mom an email with his thoughts, but he and I agreed that while the line waiting was pretty vicious, we'd totally do it again- stand by for more pics!
