Easter Weekend 2012

WHEW!!!! What an Easter we had around here! Holy cow!

How much fun to have brothers and cousins. Here's a pic of MF at 9 months and Gil at 3 months. Gil has her by about a pound, but she's longer and obviously capable of a lot more things- this little lady will be walking any day now!!!
Here's a closeup of these two loves.
And all the cousins together- what a lucky family we are!

Vake took his job as Easter egg dyer very seriously. Please also note the Seahawks sweatsuit.

And of course, he got ready for Easter at preschool, complete with bunny ears!
And the egg hunting- oh the egg hunting! This was the first year that Vake was really grownup enough to appreciate it.
We actually had an awesome Easter because after church, we had a bunch of friends, both with and without children, over for an Easter egg hunt and a potluck brunch.
Delicious.

This was shortly after Vake was found inside the house alone by Uncle Dennis, eating as much candy as he could!

My lookalikes!

Trains!

About a month ago (!), Vake and I went to the train station after church to see the Amtrak exhibit.

He was so excited.
Talk about a little train lover's dream!

And what a treat for Mommy and Vake to get some time together, just the two of us!

Just for comparison's sake

You tell me which baby this is.

Gil: 3 months!

It is impossible for me to believe that little Gil is already three months old- he looks less and less like an identical twin of baby Vake to me now.

At three months, Gil
  • weighs about 18 pounds (maybe a little less, I didn't have an official three month weight, so this is the inaccurate measurement of my bathroom scale). I will report tomorrow how long he is.
  • is in a Size 3 diaper
  • Wears a combo of 6, 9 and 12 (!) month clothing
  • sleeps through the night and takes (usually) two good naps during the day
  • is honestly the easiest baby- even easier than Vake. He only cries if tired or hungry
  • is giving us the most delicious smiles
  • has made no real attempt to roll over
  • loves his exersaucer

I am so happy about my two darling boys. Vake's transition has, gradually, become a little rockier. I think he finally knows the baby is not going back but is here to stay. NOT his favorite. AT ALL.

Here are pics from Gil's three month shoot.

Black Tie!!!!

Vake, Eric and I went to a black tie party on Saturday night (gotta love Richmond, one of the last places in the world where people still regularly put on a tuxado). Look at how handsome everyone is!

Topless Bicycle Jousting

Doesn't get much better than this. That is all.
